Arpuro Labs is the next chapter of a four-person engineering team that has been building industrial measurement systems together since 2016. Founded out of NTNU, exited a condition-monitoring business in 2020, now employee-owned and focused entirely on real-time dust.
Signal Analysis Lab spun out of NTNU in 2016 with award funding from the Research Council of Norway. The first chapter was grid stability — analysing power-grid signals for Norwegian utilities.
From 2017 the team turned its signal-processing work toward rotating machinery, building a condition-monitoring system used in Norwegian industry. In 2020 the CM business was acquired by Moreld (Karsten Moholt). We delivered a two-year consultancy through 2022.
In 2022 Elkem asked if we could measure airborne dust in real time near electric arc furnaces — something existing instruments couldn't reliably do. We launched the first Arpuro sensor in late 2024. Today it's deployed across Elkem, Boliden, Vianode and others.
In 2026 we restructured under the Arpuro Labs name. The four founders own 100% of the company. No outside investors, no quarterly pressure — just the people building the product, with our names on the patent (PCT/EP2025/052264).

Our main office is at Mechatronics Innovation Lab in Grimstad — the innovation hub of Agder. Closest neighbours: the University of Agder and Morrow. We use the lab as a base for collaborations with industrial partners and universities (UiA, UiS, UiB, NTNU).
